GARY ANDERSON takes on Phil Taylor in the World Matchplay semi-finals on Saturday night after just about out-muscling oche hunk Steve Beaton.
The World Champ squeezed past a stubborn Beaton 16-13 at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool on Friday night.
It sets up a repeat of the 2015 world final against The Power after a few nail-biting moments against The Adonis.
Beaton rolled back the years with a superb show, but Ando was always in front and had legs to spare.
Anderson now tackles Taylor, who sank Mervyn King in a 16-14 classic earlier in the night.
Ando said: “Steve was stubborn and kept coming back, he was superb. There wasn’t a bead of sweat on him at the end and I was dying.
“I knew it would be hard, but that was really tough.
“I’m a quick player, yet Steve had me running about the stage like a rag doll.
“Thankfully I got through but only just.”
