For many years Jaguar have been heralded as one of the most prestigious manufacturers of classic British sports cars; and this internationally renowned reputation looks set to continue with the new 2016 Jaguar XF model!

First showcased at the New York Auto Show in 2015, the 2016 Jaguar XF will be available in a choice of two engines; either a 340bhp or a 380bhp 3.0 litre supercharged V-6. Although both of these options will boast an impressive 332 lb-ft of torque and will come fitted with a standard eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, the 380bhp engine edition will possess a significant top speed of 155mph and acceleration capabilities of 0 to 60mph in 5.1 seconds.

If you have been a fan of the Jaguar XF models since they were first released in Britain in 2009, then the 2016 instalment will serve as a new and improved edition of this iconic, mid-size, luxury-sports sedan. As matters stand, Jaguar have stated that the new XF will be significantly lighter than previous XF models; with the rear-wheel drive model shedding a substantial 132 pounds and the all-wheel drive edition shedding a staggering 265 pounds!

Despite these structural modifications, the 2016 Jaguar XF model has not skimped on its interior technological innovations. In fact, this mid-size luxury sort-sedan will be fitted with a plethora of in-car accompaniments including: a head-up InControl Touch Pro display with excellent satellite navigation capabilities and Internet-based entertainment features; lane-keeping assist technology which will facilitate brief instalments of hands-free driving; semi-automated perpendicular and parallel parking systems; and an adaptive cruise control system that will automatically adapt to stop-start traffic.

These technological innovations will also extend to the XF’s automotive safety features. Not only will the 2016 XF model benefit from automatic braking technologies, but it will also be fitted with Jaguar’s Adaptive Surface Response System which will alter the vehicle’s dampers in order to cope with slippery winter terrain. Motorists will also receive forward-collision warning, a driver-drowsiness monitor, and an Intelligent Speed Limiter to reduce the likelihood of speeding tickets!

So while waiting for this luxurious new XF instalment to be commercially released in the UK later this year, why not check out our current Jaguar selection? We currently offer a great selection of Jaguar models online and at our Car Supermarket here in Leicester.
