Rix Motors are fully committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within both its business and supply chains. Rix Motors demonstrates high professional and ethical standards and requires the same standards from its suppliers.
Business Structure and Background
With over 48 years' experience, Rix Motors is an independently owned, family run, used car dealership based in Warrington. We consider ourselves a dealership with a difference and aim to provide an exceptional customer experience. We offer a broad range of services at Rix Motors;
- Sell used vehicles.
- Arrange finance to enable customers to buy vehicles.
- Provide vehicle aftercare including the servicing and repair of vehicles.
- Conduct MOT testing.
It is our policy to conduct all our business in an honest and ethical manner. We have a zero-tolerance approach to acts of modern slavery and human trafficking. This statement sets out reasonable steps to which Rix Motors takes to ensure our standards are being implemented across the business and supply chains.
Rix Motors prohibits all areas of the business and suppliers from using slavery and trafficking of any kind. We are committed to conducting our business with honesty and integrity and we expect all staff to maintain high standards.
We ensure that all our business activity complies with the minimum wage legislation. We also ensure that all employees have the right to work in the UK. Our employees all have access to the company handbook which contains policies that govern their employment. Each colleague has a responsibility to read the handbook and ensure they understand its contents and the consequences should a breach occur.
We provide a confidential whistleblowing helpline that encourages openness and asks colleagues to raise any concerns directly relating to the activities of the business, this includes slavery or human trafficking. The policy is designed to support whistle-blowers who raise genuine concerns under this policy.
Preventing slavery and human trafficking
It is challenging to mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking in the motor trade due to the breadth of the industry. We consider ourselves to be a ""low risk' business with regard to slavery and human trafficking. We are, however, keen to engage with our suppliers to ensure that they match our ethos of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Rix Motors continues to build on the actions already in place.
- In the next financial year, we will provide e-learning training for staff, to enable them to understand and report on modern slavery and human trafficking.
- We will ensure that all employees are aware of the whistleblowing policy.
This statement has been approved by the company directors for the financial year ending on 31stOctober 2018. The statement will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis.
