What is BMW M Sport?

BMW M Sport, a title known for style but what does it actually mean?

M Sport is a trim series in the BMW range which takes inspiration from the Motorsport range, or M Range as it is commonly referred to. There are quite a few aesthetic changes that make up the trim…

First off, there will be a small but mighty M badge on the sides of the car to give it that edge and to make it unmistakably M Sport. A small detail but an important one.

Next we have the gloss exterior on the trim which makes the car look almost two-tone in colour. This shine really enhances the body shape, something which BMW is known for, and makes the colour and details pop which they wouldn’t usually do on a standard trim.

A sportier tailpipe and more detail on that BMW grille are another two features you can expect to see. These tend to come as standard but it is worth noting that as you move up the models, things will look a little different as M Sport is designed to give a little more to the series that it is working with, so a 1 Series and a 3 Series will have slightly different features.

Larger, sportier and slicker alloys and low profile tyres are one of the biggest M Sport upgrades we see, and they are absolutely worth that extra investment, although be warned it can clock up around £3k extra than buying a standard trim car, so make sure you are getting a good deal!

Inside, there is plenty of luxury too, with M Sport detailing and features on the dash, seats and gearstick. In some cases, there is an upgraded infotainment system and full-leather seats but this will depend on the age and the model you are going for.

So, who is an M Sport for? Anyone who wants that little extra bit of luxury in their vehicle and wants a premium touch.
